PETER RABINS

Peter Rabins began to create art using a range of materials including stone, Styrofoam, spray paint, and found objects towards the end of his 48-year career as a geriatric psychiatrist. After retirement he began to design and fabricate indoor and outdoor steel sculptures in collaboration with his daughter, RISD-trained artist Nora Rabins, in her Pawtucket, RI studio.

Rabins’ work, which builds on his decades-long love of gardening and landscaping as well as an interest in shapes that interact in multiple planes, has been exhibited at the Attleboro Art Museum and the Broadmead  Community and in private collections in Maryland, Tennessee, and Oregon.
